How "What's The" Works

Our platform is simple, and it's powered entirely by our community. Here's how you can participate and find the answers you're looking for.

Step 1: Ask a Question (Add a Comparison)

It all starts with a question. If you want to know the equivalent of something in another country, you can add a new comparison.

For example, you can ask: "What's the Target of the United Kingdom?"

This creates a new page where other users can submit their answers.

Step 2: Provide an Answer

If you see a comparison you know the answer to, you can share your knowledge! Submit your answer for what you believe is the best equivalent.

For the "Target of the UK" question, another user might answer: "Sainsbury's".

Step 3: Vote on the Best Answers

The core of our platform is the voting system. When you see an answer, you can vote on how accurate you think it is:

  • Spot On: This is a perfect match.
  • Close Enough: It's a good alternative, but not a perfect one-to-one equivalent.
  • Not Really: This is not a good comparison.

These votes are used to calculate an answer's Similarity Score. The answer with the highest score rises to the top as the most community-trusted equivalent.

That's It!

Every contribution helps build a more accurate and comprehensive database for everyone. So go ahead, ask a question or share your expertise!
